Mine didn't fit too well, however the interchangeable screw wasn't straight and it took me quite a few attempts to get it straight. Screw it in hard enough and it looks ok. Personally I don't like the richbrook one, the reception is cack and the metal rod looses it's shine.

I've got one, I experimented with the supplied threads before finding one that fitted nicely and it screwed into place just fine. It is a flush fit too, at least as far as I can see!
My only (very minor) gripe is that since I got the Polo back from the bodyshop the metal rod appears to have lost its lustre
Reception is slightly reduced but I can still get Radio 1 and 2 perfectly, some of the weaker signals aren't so good and drop out sometimes, like Kerrang FM for example.
The pic above shows the supplied shorter rod in place, I haven't used the second supplied rod that you can cut down to size as I felt that this is short enough as it is!
Cheers

do your aerials actually screw into the base?
because just now, my base is screwed in with a M5 screw, but doesnt actually screw into the aerial, its just the tiny screw forcing it in place

I just got one last week and had probs fitting it as the VW screw thread doesn't naturally screw into the aerial itself due to the aerial having the larger thread....... I went back to the shop and they phoned Richbrook who gave the following advice / instructions for fitting the aerial to a VW................
1. Get the screw thread for the VW fitting. (It's the one with the smaller thread)
2. Screw this, (on it's own not attached to the aerial), into the aerial base on the car.
3. Slightly loosen the lower of the two allen key bolts in the aerial.
4. Now place the aerial over the screw thread that you have screwed into the aerial base on the car, and make sure it is straight / flush to the base.
5. Whilst holding the aerial in situ tighten the allen key bolt so as to grip onto the screw thread. (This should keep the screw thread at a good straight angle).
6. That's it.... You can now just unscrew/screw the aerial in/out as usual when you like....... Not exactly anti-theft but i think people have said that about these aerials before.
You should now have a Richbrook aerial that looks straight and fits nicely onto the car....... Well at least mine does after i followed these instructions.
Hope this is of some use to people.
Cheers
Dave.

I took the following two pics this afternoon......... I've noticed when looking at the pics that the aerial does sit slightly higher than a standard aerial...... To be honest though i hadn't noticed this untill i was looking at the picture which obviously is at agreater magnification.
I might redo it next week when i'm off work but it isn't noticable in 'real life'.
Cheers

thats smashing Dave, thanks for every1s help

!
i followed your instructions and it works a treat.
yesterday, the aerial was sitting at least 5mm higher than today. hence not flush

(LOL!

)
i think mine is sitting more or less the same like yours. maybe slightly lower with a smaller gap, ive cut my rod shorter by like an inch, looks more stubby
thanks again

Cheers

Mine faces to the left
Just depends on how tight you've fixed the aerial in and what position it was in when you attached I suppose
Good job Aaron - lets see a pic

Glad i was able to help matey..............
Regarding the screws..... When i held the aerial in situ i purposly made sure the little screws were facing backwords ..... 1. so that they were pointing down and out of the way..... and 2 to give them a little protection.
Cheers
