Custom Code Re-map

Took the Polo to James and the guys @ JBS this afto to be the 1st GTi with the Custom Code tuning, can't say a bad word about the whole thing!
I put out 124.2 bhp @ 6794 rpm with my BMC and cat back exhaust although it started blowing on the way down to inters and after doing 300 odd miles with it, its started to get worse so i know i'm down a few bhp at least!!
with the Custom Code remap i'm now pushing 137.3 bhp @ 6785 rpm, a healthy 13.1 bhp increase which is exactly what was quoted for the expected gains with the new software!!!
The car now wants to pull harder from low down and really whips round past 6000rpm and pushes for the limiter a lot easier! i used to change at about 6100 when it seemed to peak but now thats been extended and i found myself going through the gears much quicker to about 6800!
i even managed 0 - 60 without 3rd gear which i've not managed to get before and should shave a few tenths off, will def. be trying some timing soon! - on a private road of course people!
overall i'm really happy and would recommend it to anyone looking for something to release a few more bhp and and give that extra smoothness to the rev range that i feel has been lacking! oh and you get some cool CC stickers!
soon as i get back to powerflow and stop the exhaust leak i'm sure i'll be pushing 140+ bhp and driving round with a bigger smile on my face!
get yourself to JBS!!

They have got a bloody good programmer then - thats an excellent gain on a first pass!!!

nice!
i must take this oppourtunity to say how nice your motor is, one of my favourite mk5's at the moment, and after inters it convinced me even more, well done on making it look great without looking like an airfix kit
me still wants one of those carbon bonnets off ebay, they seem to have stopped selling them! argh

yeah i'm really pleased with the gains! best thing is if they develop further or improve it they call me and get back up there for upgrades free of charge!
cant argue with service like that!!
thanks polopowah! sorry i didn't get chance to say hi at the show, trying to get the cage in was a 'mare!!

trying to make it look different without adding 'airfix bits'

with the discount for booking in the first week it came to £330, i think thats great for a before and after rolling road, the remap and some stickers!
don't know how long that price will last but well worth it in my eyes!

Glad to hear you like Custom Code...
I've had CC on my Fabia for a while now and I love it!
13bhp is a decent hike for a 1.6, so I bet you're well chuffed!
Does it feel smoother?
Can you scan the before and after graphs?

thats what i thought, 10%+ increase to power is quite noticeable! improves low down power and yes it really does pull smoother with the 'change over' at around 5000rpm being reduced significantly.
i'll see what i can do about graphs!

Hello just got back from JBS with my GTI,
Not the same outcome as icypolo tho, Ive had the same custome code as your GTI, so james tells me ive got the same power increases as yours (icypolo) But and heres the BUT!
I have no before and after rollin road print out, (broken down car on the rollers) which to be fair to james (Very nice but crazy fella) he did give me xtra discount but i still dont no what mine is running?!? Ans on a postcard!
I,ve had 134.6bhp at my local RR, but james says this is well " A bit of a slack RR, so dont believe it fully" so im stuck i can travel 4hrs back to JBS then i can compare with the others who have it done or take it to my local RR and do the math!!
Must admit when me and james took it around his "test track" I was wheel spinin changin from 1st to second big time and done so on way home! Revs like a b***h aswell!!
Still just for my peace of mind id like it RR so i no what im running!! Need to see ink on paper!!

if you take it back to your local RR then you'll be able to see that you've got the same increase in power... sounds like it tho, plenty of spinnin and a lot faster pull through the rev range!
only thing i can say is lets get a Polo RR shoot out set up and all get the figures on one session...
