Autoglym's bumper treatment is good, but not too long-lasting. Black shoe polish, or engine oil are alternatives. If you're after a quick fix (e.g. at a show) WD40 can work wonders. I used to use a product from Simonez (?) that was superb, but now I just don't bother at all!

does that rub on by any chance? I've found the ones you need to rub on last a hell of a lot longer...or at least seem to.

Yep, it's applied like the AutoGlym stuff, but it lasts longer, makes your bumpers blacker and isn't as greasy either. This coming from someone who has sworn by AutoGlym Bumper Care for about 4 years gives you an idea of how good it is.

Excellent stuff! 8)

I just use back to black.. lasts for ages. Engine oil does well too, but it's a bit messy and doesn't last as long.

i did my G40 May last year with some F1 Williams bumper and trim gel, only just had to do it again last week, just rub it on with some rag and leave it, its clear so you cant get black stuff on the paint which is a disadvantage of something like back to black, got it from halfords for about £7 brilliant stuff!

Back to black is usually a thick black gloop. Maybe you had a silicone spray version?

guess if it was thick black goop it probably would have worked better than the spray-on i had! it made the bumpers look a mildly darker shade of grey but didnt exactly turn them black

still said Back To Black on it though. might even still have the can.

I've used Back to Black spray too, it's terrible stuff.

A good way to get grease all over your paintwork, and have a black finish that washes off in a few days.
