U alright guys. Just have had my schmidt 8 x 15 alloys (with 195/45/15) wheels fitted and balanced and there looking awesome. (will post pics soon)
I have some coilovers but am restricted lowering wise due to the wheel rubbing in the arch when going round corners and when hitting bumps in the road. I am thinking that i will need my arches modifying.
Is is possible for someone to sort this out and how much am i going to be looking at paying?
Cheers

im not surprised! at 8" across they are some big ole wheels, bet they look fab though mate cant wait for piccies.
have you ever heard of using spacers? not sure what effect they would have on a polo's trim though, do they stick out slightly as it is at the moment?
ps. i think you needed 40's to solve the rubbing issue although thats abit late now
other than that i wouldn't know what needs to be cut off to make them fit (im always wary of letting someone do that to my car, personally)

arch rollling costs about £25 - £50 per arch
do 195/40s exist?

Been quoted £200 - £400 from my local bodyshops to sort my arches out, however after looking at them closer I can see that it just simply seems to be rubbing on the back lining which seems to be removable by undoin a few screws. Is this reccomended?

that "back-lining" is the mud-guard/stone guard and i had to take my rears off just incase it rubbed with the new tyres, although i now have mudflaps on which dont touch at all.

liners were one of the first things taken off cus stick out the most. yeah, removing them will give you some extra clearence, mabye enuff to accomodate 8x15

Have removed the arch lining but there is still rubbing at the rear. Are there any thngs i can do myself to modify the arches or is it going to need professionally doing?
