Toying with the idea of fitting a 9n Filler cap, not a Mod I've seen done before. Not really looked into it alot. I'm guessing I'd somehow have to wire in a switch into the dashboard, for the auto opening thingy.

the 9N one also looks abit smoother, cos it doesnt have the little finger lip.

ANybody know if they are the same size and fitted/bolted on in the same way. Hopefully I'll get a 9n for the day when mine goes in for a service so I can have a good look

Interesting...

You could wire up one of the blank switches in the centre console next to the heated rear window switch?

If the 9n filler doesn't work out an alternative would be a genuine Audi TT filler...?

Yup thats where I thought I'd put the switch, won't look odd or out of place then.

Girlfriends gone to america for 3 months so i keep thinking up little projects to keep myself busy.

and take the opportunity to do a quick swap!

anyway, its not a switch tat operates the flap, its a push in latch in kinda thing...(hard to explain) and the mechanism should come as a whole. unless ur after the metal bit only.

What I known 6N and 6N2 users to do, which would be simpler than to fit a 9N or Golf filler cover is the simply get the existing cover and flatten this, by heating it gently I've been told. This will mean that you won't have the funky opening mechanism but you will achieve the same flushed look if using the alternative covers...been debating this myself...
