Performance brakes questions

Hello people,

Do performance brake disks help cooling? I know the manufactures say they do but for the people with them on do they help?

DOT 5.1 brake fluid - how much do you need to buy to change your fluid?

Braided hoses - where can you get them? No one has them for the MK5 polo.

I need to know this because my driving style is sporting to say the least, and on a "sporting" drive into the country yesterday I had to stop and allow my brake pads to cool down, as they where smoking . Surprisingly I didn't have that much fade and only realised that they where burning when I stopped at a junction and had a nasty smell. (I’m using fast road pads)

I guess vented disks woulds help cooling. Late Mk2 golf 16v GTi brakes will fit the front. 256x20. I fitted some on the friont of mine.

Would rotordiscs be of any help in improving things? Due to their design they should help everything cool down much faster, plus they are a direct replacement for the stock brake discs. You can specify drilled and grooved or just grooved discs - but they're not cheap! £140 for the front set, and the same for the rears :|

Brake fluid change should be of some help. I had mine done couple of weeks back as part of the service and the middle pedal feels a lot better now than it did in the weeks before the fluid change :)

Just fitted Black diamond combi discs (grooves and drilled) with Black diamond preditor pads, (front) at First fcuk me they were s**t but now 150miles down the road they bite like a little pair or bity things!!

Excellent! they are 256x20 but the pads are 16mm where as the standard gti ones are 256x22 but have 11mm pads!

They are carrado brakes which ive got!! pukka
