BMC NOISE (Help)

I just fitted the BMC filter i got to my polo gti. It was dead easy to fit and got the samco for it too so it looks good. The only thing is that it's not loud,well i have never heard a polo gti with one on it before but for the money i paid the noise is dissapointing. I had a VTS before with a pipercross filter and it sounded loads better.
Anyone know how i can make it sound louder and better ? I am using the original cold air feed and the filter is sitting at the back of the engine, i have tried turning the filter around (putting feed in side to the engine throttle body and putting the throttle body part to the feed in side) but it doesn't make much difference.
Does anyone have a suggestion how i can make it sound better ?

CDAs are shielded from the Hot air which makes the noise as carbon isnt very conductive, thats the idea of them to give performance gains thru chanelling cold air!
if you wanted loud Pipercross are foam and suck in all the engines hot air without any real performance gains...

have you checked everything. dont want to sound patronising but is there a good feed to it, and it is on the right way round? (should say which way somewhere) I've changed to one and it is loud, I've found the enclosed ones are as loud if not louder than a non-enclosed one, esp in BMC's case..

That's so not true. Yes the key to performance is cold air, but just because it's loud doesn't mean all you're getting is hot air.
As posted above i'd check your fittings and feeds, these filters are suposed to give quite an impressive induction noise.

Tried fiddling around with the fixings and its no better. It has made a definate increase on the power but the induction noise is no where near as loud as it should be. I think i will try fitting a bigger size cold air feed pipe and see what it does to it. Any other suggestions of what to do ?

Mine too !!
Its gargle at low revs reminds me of a Sub :-p and then when you open her up she growls nicely and then changes tone 3/4s of the way thru the rev counter. . .
