I'm currently trying to persuade my mate to get some for his MK1 Golf...not succeeding though :(

Yes, http://www.germanplates.com do em!

Those wheels do look good on the GTi, I was considering getting a set 7" at the front and 8" at the back for my GTi but I got the fairly rare Toplines instead and polished them up.
