UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Hi all, my partner has a polo 1.9 tdi and last few days the central locking has played up. When she get in the car and pressed the button on the door to lock all doors sometimes it locks but then flicks back open straight away!?!?! It doesnt seem to do this all the time thought !?!? Any one got any idea or solutions?

Any one else had a 1.9 tdi and had any problems with their car or anything i should look out for? Its an 02 plate 36000 miles

I havent experienced any problems like that on mine, although one of my keys has become unpaired from the immobiliser and will not start the car. Sounds like another trip to vw! Sorry i cant be of more help to you.

Check the wires that go through the a-post to the door these wires could have water in the terminals.This problem causes the terminals to corrode and then opens the door control unit.

mine did that when the boot wasnt shut properly? If thats any help to you?

Mine has a problem with unlocking the car from further than 3 feet from the car and sometimes closer!!!

Its going into VW tomorrow to be looked at and a new key i think. Its being done under warranty so no complaints here!
