hi i have orderd some 50mm eibach springs but i cant find any 50mm springs on the net that eibach do? also does anyone know if fittling these will affect my warrantee thankyou dan

If you get an independent to fit them, then, yes, I'd expect it to affect your warranty, especially when you consider that VW offer their own springs - both as a factory option and as an aftermarket park (Germany only though, afaik).

Your best bet, if you want to preserve as much of your warranty as possible is to speak to your local dealer. See if they will be willing to fit the eibachs for you. If they are, get them to put something in writing that says it will not affect your warranty or that only the suspension components have fallen outside its scope. It all depends on what sort of deal you can negotiate with your dealer and whether they have to get VW involved to make the decision. Also bear in mind that your finance company (if you have one) would probably want to know what you're doing to their car and would want the same assurances about warranty (I'd guess).

Basically - you'll have to pay main dealer labour rates at the least, and that's assuming they're willing/able to make a decision about whether your waranty will still be valid.

they said they will do it but at the cost of £350! and i have got some1 who will do it for £60 an vw technition i spoke to them and they said it would only void the conectiong parts! but how will they know ive changed them neway! even if there was a problem i could put my old springs back!(how would they know!)

the new springs will have an Eibach logo on, and no VW part no.

If you crash the car, wont it look a bit suspect if the car is wrecked, but there are 4 new springs on the car? believe me, insurance assesors don't give the benefit of the doubt - any suspiscions and they wont pay out.

I know a mate who fitted lowering springs to his new mk5 polo, had a crash. Luckily told his insurance, they paid up but vw wouldn't repair it as it involved the suspension so he had to take it elsewhere. He then had a problem with the exhaust system but vw wouldn't even look at it and told him his entire warrenty was invalid as it had been repaired by a non vw garage.

That's the point though, he couldn't change them once he'd crashed the car.
He HAD to take it to a non vw garage. The insurance company contacted vw first to have it fixed so they noted it on their system.

I'd tell your vw garage first, if they say "oh that's ok but the springs are not covered under warrenty" then get it in writing.

why couldnt he change them?

na they cant say the springs where damaged could they?
