Grrraargh!

Coming home from work today, come round a corner, lorry on my side of the road, swerve onto kerb...
*BANG*
I'd only just finished that wheel in black / polished rim (well, half polished, pending polishing kit..), and I go and take a bloody great chunk of alloy out of the rim. And to add to that, the tyre was only fitted two weeks ago, at a fitting cost of £13.04

And there is no one around here who does it any cheaper, it's ridiculous. Going to have to find myself a new wheel, shine it up which will be hard considering I actually have no skin left on one of my fingers from all the sanding, and pay an extortionate price for fitting and balancing..

I agree with calvino, I'm afraid!
At least your car is OK, the wheel is a good spare, or a good wheel if you're not fussy.
If you lived around here, and I was still working at a garage, I'd do the tyre for nowt.

Yeah, you're right, could have been worse, it's just frustrating that I'd only just finished working on it, and that it'd just had the tyre fitted etc. Going to be a pain in the arse trying to find a single 9 spoke as well.. never any about when you're actually looking for them.

unlucky there mate, bet they look sweet on your car too, i'm sure everyone will let you know if they see a single 9 spoke going on ebay or in their local scrappy...i'm refurbing my wheels too at the mo so i know how much work goes into even 1 wheel, but i spose it's always a hazard being the 1st things that hit kerbs.

i'll keep an eye out too, when im cruising ebay....
all i can say is you dont ever let me drive your car then

its only by grace of God and the quite ludicrous sidewall overhang it's tyres have that have stopped me kerbing the hell out of it's (factory bogstandard) alloys... even on the way into tesco this evening!
mind you didnt do it much in the polo, its a bit narrower and nimbler

(did it a bit tho)

Cheers, I'd appreciate it if people would keep a casual eye open for a replacement. I've hammered it back into something resembling wheel shaped, but the beading has snapped off so it's never really going to repairable.

its always them getting up to shenanigans across the centre line right before blind corners too, as if the roads gonna be one-way!
nearly stacked it a couple times because of them despite keeping my own progress to a safe rate. nobs. just the thought that goes "if i'd have taken it easy down that last B road instead of hammering it, we'd have reached the corner together and i'd be a f***ing grease spot"..
