Last episode in the series of Topgear...

Don't suppose any one recorded it and has finished with it and would send it to me would they?

I'd pay for a new blank tape and postage :)

I'll see if I can find some way of ripping the DVD (anyone got any software they want to recommend? Must be easy to use and, of course, free). Unfortunately I can't copy the DVD as my computer doesn't have a DVD-R, I've just got a standalone DVD-R attached to the TV, but I'll happily upload a divx copy.

should be fairly easy to make a cd version of it if you have a cdr - very easy if you recorded it in long play

id give you a guide but it may take a while ... first of all, Smartripper is very good for getting the files off in a usable format

but then some processing may be involved :/

or just dub it onto vhs hehe ... we dont need to keep it after all, just watch it and pass it along

Well, if only i could convince the landlady that us shelling out for Sky Plus (with me & the oik paying our share, even) would be an Insanely Good Idea (tm), then i'd have it all in one nice neat package and I wouldn't keep missing it for things like going to see mates in the pub etc.

Course now that they're all off on holiday, the series has ended!

yes, i do have a video recorder, and yes, i have blank tapes and a comprehensive knowledge of how to work the thing. but my memory is p*sspoor - with sky+ you dont even have to remember, just turn it on in a couple of weeks time and make a happy discovery
