Right ive got some Eibach 50mm Sportline Springs on the way to me. Anyone know where i can get some decent shocks to go with them?? I was thinking of bilstein but am open to suggestions. I cant seem to find anywhere that sells any for the Polo GTi.
Thanks, Phill.

You could just stay with the standard gas-filled GTi shocks and match the springs to those, seems to be the most popular choice? Cheaper too

Yeah but i dont want to fit my Eibach Springs and then find the ride is too harsh! Because then ill have to pay another fitting charge to have shocks fitted after! Its only £115.00 (delivered) for 30% uprated gas filled SPAX shocks!
Thinking about them!

I think Chris (cyhliu) has the 50mm Eibach springs. Can't remember if he has uprated shocks though.

The only reason im not buying the shocks yet is because they seem to be universal for all of the MK5's. If this is true, surely they must just be 30% uprated when compaired to the basic shocks and so this would mean that they are probably just about the same as the GTi shocks?
Im also tempted to buy the SPAX Adjustable shocks but im not sure yet! I wish there was more information available on shocks out there, its really quite hard to find any information on them.
Does anyone have uprated shocks on there car, if yes can you let me know what they are like compaired to stock ones!! Thanks in advance.
Phill.

Because that defeats the whole point, they have a really harsh ride. Comfortable ride is equally important to me as the handeling, what i am trying todo is keep the stock ride but just lower the car 40mm ish. I dont care about improving the sway etc!

i would have thought that standard shocks would be best for comfort?

And you would be absolutely right - all aftermarket shocks are uprated (ie stiffer) damping between 25-35% so will give less movement under shocks ie bumps - as a result the ride will harsher

there you go!
It says 40/60 but the rear has 5 setting so you can go 60/60!
not sure about ride quality tho!
