Is VW chasing Vauxhall/Opel's press just at the moment?

Is it just me, or does it seem that VW is chasing Vauxhall's press releases, just at the moment?

First we had Vauxhall beating VW to the gun with its press photos of the next Astra - causing VW to chase a week later with it's release of offical photos of the Golf V.

Now we have Vauxhall annoucing this:

Karl points out that VW are now getting UK press for this:

Which, fair enough, might be a new development but might just be the formal anouncement of this:

Just seems odd, to me, that VW seems to be getting outpaced by Vauxhall in its announcements, just recently.

Shame really, as they had the sportster underway first, afaik.

Deek.

What do you think?

think its the other way round - Vaux get wind of a new VW launch so they rush theres out.

VW dont view themselfs in the same catergory as Vaux (imo) so isn't really concerned when Vaux happens to lauch

More coincidence than planning

Chrysler/Dodge is part of DaimlerChrysler, whereas GM is to the best of my knowledge an entirely seperate corporation.

Personally I feel its just Vauxhall trying to get the jump on VW by being there first, as theres not much else really going for most of their products, VX220 Turbo excluded.
