Confirmation of what all of us know. Built like they're bulletproof, but actually they're not.

Recently someone asked me if the Mk4 Golf was a good buy, and I couldn't advise them in all honesty. Reliabilty was the most important factor for her, so I advised Toyota instead...

Ford's are going up, eh? Anyone that has owned a Focus will know, that's FAR from the truth!

The worst fuel consumption and rattles known to man. :evil:

Maybe the MK2 will be better.

During the same period Ford cars have risen in the estimation of their owners from "average" in terms of reliability to "good", especially for the Focus, Fiesta and Mondeo.
This could also be a consequence of the reliability of Ford's cars actually staying the same, but their customers' expectations falling...
