Ive got this sticky stuff left on my window, the woman that had the car before me had a parking sticker on the window and when i peeled it off its left a load of that sticky s**t on my window. Cant seem to get it off, any tips?

Soapy water and a stanley knife type blade.

Not sure about using the knife glass though, it should be fine.

Incidentally when I took off the MOT reminder sticker after a year I used a CD to scape all the sticky gunk off!

Just press the CD edge to the glass and slide it into the sticky stuff. A blade would probably work better though.

Thanks everyone, it was getting on my nerves, everywhere else is spotless.

I had the same problem when I got my Polo, there was a huge dealership sticker in the back window right in my line-of-sight through the rear-view mirror so I took it off and there was some sticky glue left on the glass. I used some glass polish (the aerosol can type stuff) and a clean cloth to just have at it until it came off took about 20 minutes!

When I had my rear plate off before the VWNW show there were three strips of festering old sticky crap left from when a previous owner had put sticky pads in place for the numberplate, I raided the cupboard under the sink and found some "sticky stuff remover" which did the trick and got it all off within a couple of minutes I think my Mum said she got it from Lakeland Plastics!

the fastest way is use lighter thinner or alcohol, you may use glass polish
as well, but not as good as the others.

Anyone know what you should use on Crustic bird poo on your bonnet? I cleaned my car bvut couldnt seem to get the residue from the poo off.

What should i use? didnt wanna go using something like T-Cut if i dont need to.

Any ideas?

tcut should be fine, or some "quick detailer" wax spray - I find the turtle wax speed wax stuff is very good

I parked outside of my work the other day and when i went home i noticed some bird s**t on the rear quarter. I washed it off and it had left a mark off just being there for 4 hours, f*****g hell what do the mother fckers eat?

I had to T cut it for like 25 mins then polish it to remove the mark.

haha Polosilver, i left the bird s**t on there for like a week cos i was out and about doing stuff and wasnt really with my car!

Its well and truly marked me motor Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Guess ill have to do same at weekend, TCut followed by a really good Polish

that is a kind of acid, it's harmful the paint job.
you may need to use compound to rub it lightly, then use normal wax
to polish it.

Bird poo from hell is attacking GTi's,

scratch x and a good clay bar followed by tech wax will do the trick nicely!!
