knocking front suspension

hopefully someone will know (ie-tom)
i have a a 52 plate ibiza and it sounds like the front suspension may be knocking.
is this a common thing on this model ibiza, and will buying new springs and dampers (eg-koni) stop this problem?
any advice would be much appreciated

Its probably the anti roll bar bushes and brackets broken. Common fault on the 9n chassis I believe.

well got it checked out 2day and the garage said that they couldn't find anything wrong but that they could here the knocking. they said the only thing it could be were the anti roll bar bushes but weren't willing to change them unless a fault was confirmed.

rite, i got it checked again after a couple of weeks and they finally narrowed it down to...........(drumroll) the offside anti roll bar bush being cracked!!

well they also said there was a loose nut behind the steering wheel but i never found it!
