Geometry???

A few months back Mole got his car lowered and I remember him saying that once he fitted his coilover kit his geometry was way out! When I do the same to my car I expect it to be way out as well. What is the best thing to do about this? Can I take it to a local garage and get them to fix it to standard setting or will KW suspention have there own setting? Am very confused and dont want my car to be "unsafe". How much will I be charged for this and is it a big job?

ok then as with any time you do any suspension work you need to get it re adjusted because you have changed the positioning of vital components in the suspension so the wheels may not point where you want them pointing which equals un even tyre wear*, tram lining, the steering being off centre, the car pulling tom one side, premeture wear on other suspension components and the car not holding the road as well as it could.
*premature tyre wear is why i have to replace 2 tyres this month at about 70 quid a pop this isnt because the geometyry was wrong but because i made such drastic changes in ride height oh and also there only 3 months old but the mountain roads were calling

Right ok cheers! So can my local garage do this no probs? How much do you think they will charge me for it? Do you think KW Suspention would have there own geometry settings or would they just be set to factory settings?

would you have to check the geomatry/tracking if you change the size of the alloys? eg one month you run it on 17's next month you decide to run it on 15's?

Don't think so, the tracking affects the position of the hub, so if that's correct then the wheel bolted on to it shouldn't really matter.
Am I correct here?

theres a manufactures setting so they go to that as its dependant on mounting points in the suspension and those dont change
and as for wheels, you could go from 8" mini wheels to 25" wheels and all it would do is exagerate any tiny defects, if there are any present

cool i want to run my standard bbs rims over winter and not the 17's as the roads are salted and don't want them corroding the new rims.
