Right i had a problem with the cooling fan, the fan was f****d and so when the climate came on it when stopped it couldnt get enough air into the car to cool it down. So it then made the car rev up and overheated the car. This is why it was stalling. I got a local garage to look at it and had VW diagnose it. Turns out the fan was f****d and so i replaced it today.
Problem is the warning light needs turning off and i dont wanna have to pay VW £40 todo it. The car is fine now and just needs the light turning off. Is there a way todo it?

Might have to be cleared with vag-com?
Have you tried disconnecting/connecting the battery?
if a stored error code, will prob still be there after that, hence vag diag tool needed

I got a 3rd party lead to use with the free software from ebay, this seller
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQf ... diQ2dcross
Got the last one, with the big connector, all black. Bought some time back and works well. Would be better if I purchased/upgraded to the full version of the software though, but can't afford at this time
