The Polo 6n is 4x100 mate, so 4-stud as opposed to 5. If you really want to fit the A3 wheels, the choices are to fit adapters as you would to fit Porsche wheels for instance, or to have the alloy wheel's centres redrilled to be 4x100 instead of 5x100 (assuming you were to go for the wheels from an earlier Audi).

I understand from what I have read in other threads on the forum that adapters are the safest option?

For a set of adaptors you are going to be looking at round about 200 quid! Also you,ve got to remeber that these are usually 20mm think so this is giving you -20et on what your offset is already! If they are audi wheels I would recon they will be something like et35ish??? If so then you would be running a very low et. I did look into wheel redrilling and to be honest everyone I have spoke says its all safe. And for doing 4 wheels I recon you are probably going to be around the same sort of price for a set of adaptors. If it was me personaly I would go for the redrilled option. But again are your audi a3 standard wheels worth spending 200 quid on???
