VW have released some information on upcoming models and model updates during the Frankfurt motor show this week. Now information related to the Polo (I guess nothing much is happening at the moment), but they did have this to say about the Fax:

Timing

World debut at Leipzig Motor Show, Germany, in April 2005; went on sale in Germany and Europe at end of April
UK launch scheduled for February 2006
Key facts

New small hatchback from Volkswagen
Becomes new entry-level model, fitting into Volkswagen range below Polo
Harnesses traditional Volkswagen values of robust build and dependability
Designed to give customers exceptional spaciousness in a high-value, high-quality package
Exterior dimensions are – length: 3.82 m; width: 1.66 m; height: 1.54 m; wheelbase: 2.47 m
In terms of length, it is shorter than a Polo, longer than a Lupo
Lupo production has now ceased, but will be offered in UK until arrival of Fox while stocks last
Simplicity will be ethos behind Fox – will be offered as a three-door, most likely with a choice of three engines
Engine range (to be confirmed for UK): three-cylinder 1.2-litre 55 PS and four-cylinder 1.4-litre 75 PS petrol units, plus three-cylinder 1.4-litre TDI 75 PS diesel (using high pressure Pumpe Düse unit injection)
