Track control arm help!!!

guys,

wonder if you can help me. i've got my strut out to do the front wheel bearing and on inspecting the track control arm, we have noticed it kinda just dangles off the chassis :?

my dad reckons that it should be tighter as he remembers doing one on a mk2 and you couldn't move it around so much, but inspecting it there seems to be no damage to the rubber bits and all looks ok! there is no side loosness in it, but you are able to move it around quite alot, i.e. round and round, up and down, but it won't push or pull (looking side on by the way))

we have checked the other side and there seems like a fair amount of movement in that one but its hard to tell as that side is all in one piece!

are they ment to be quite loose or does it look like i need new arms??

p.s. this is the G40 by the way!

regards
Doug

Mine both looked like they were pretty loose, changing them didn't affect it. They're pretty firmly held in place once the strut is connected, so I've never really worried about it.

The inner bush is rose jointed, not solid rubber like the others
