...but what's the best way to entice and trap a hamster?

my bro's gone away for the week and we just noticed the clot didn't put the lid back on the cage when he cleaned it out last night. it is, of course, now completely empty. had a nice half hours search with a torch and looking under everything, no results.

little furry b*stard could be anywhere in the entire house and i dont fancy stepping on it come the morning or waking up to find it exploring the north face of the tahrey...

All you have to do is put food somewhere and they'll come out and find it.

Yeah, food is a good way to entice a rodent. You'll probably end up finding droppings all over the place as well, in your search :x

Nah, they won't be all over the place. You'll find them all piled up in a corner

Since this topic's totally off-topic anyway, I just gotta say that it reminded me of this.

didn't take the dry food we put out for it yesterday, no new craps in evidence, tonight it's the apple wedges. if he doesnt go for them then i guess we have to assume the tyke's reached it's 1-year expiry date. can't be too far off, anyway, to be honest.

folk at work today, after i told em, giving me the usual horror stories about hamster getting out and them laying carpets oblviously & flattening out the mysterious lump with a mallet, slamming a door shut and cutting it in half, etc.. o_O 'k, pull the other one, it'll jangle...

mr ruthless: don't make me play Cognoscenti vs Intelligentsia at you :D
