I do, that's cheaper than Spax stuff and in my experience Spax isn't up to much quality wise whereas Koni is something else altogether.

Given the option I'd have had Koni suspension from the off, when I get myself some G40 hubs the creaky, uneven Spax kit is getting sacked off.

i think the koni kit is the one i'd be getting my question is! i believe they lower the car to about 40mm! now does this mean, as the g40 is aparently 25mm lower anyway that its will actually drop the car to 65mm? i.e started at 25mm lower, and dropping another 40mm making it 65.

or

does it drop the car 15mm making it 40mm lower in total over a normal non g40 polo???

I am pretty sure that the suspension kits for mk3 polos are the same height regardles of any possible mounting differences. Jason ordered a 40mm GMax kit I believe and that only lowered the car by about 10/20mm.

He was pretty disappointed, some of these companies do state whether it will lower the G40 by 40mm or whether it will lower the standard one by 40mm whilst dropping the G40 only 15 or so. Others just say polo ages including GT/G40. Do not quote me on this but I am pretty sure that the kits apply to the ride height of a standard polo the GT/G40 is an informant that the strut will fit a G40 rather than to lower it by 40 mm, it will probably say somewhere on the packaging if this is the case.

I'll second that Quinny, I'm sure that's the reason for the different kits for G40s.

Stock G40 legs are different to stock CL/GT/Fox etc ones, the shaft is about a third thicker and because G40 hubs are different the way that they attach is different too I'd imagine. Whether the way the springs go on differs I don't know, but if they go on the same way then that'll be why they list 40mm drops even for G40s even though it won't actually drop it that much. I could be wrong though.

For the sake of authenticity, my car will be receiving G40 hubs and all the other bits that separate the G40 from the rest of the range. At almost 15 years old, some of these parts will be getting pretty long in the tooth now anyway, so what's the point of replacing like with like when G40 parts are often the same price or marginally more expensive. I know my car will never actually be a proper G40 but I'm a fussy git.

First step has already been taken, G40 track arms going on tomorrow replacing one bent GT one and the other side has a worn bush.
