Thinking about chipping my TDi.
Heard that it smokes less and runs better when chipped and not that expensive.
Anyone know of any places??
Also, has anyone painted their brakes calipers?? I have blue car so dont want red ones, but dont know what other colour to chose.
Suggestions??

Alot of money if you go to AMd.
I was quoted £750 on my 100pd tdi
Performance gains would be 25bhp 125bhp
Torque 25lb taking mine to 202lb @ 1700
MPG +5
TDISport, I'm sure you have the 1.4tdi so you could assume 100bhp 177lb torque after the mod.

Worth shopping around though.
look at these!!

Go for black calipers or the grey ones on your pics, easier to clean oh, if you do go for them put some EBC greenstuff pads on at the same time. They are quality, and do not coat your wheels in brake dust, it simply blows away with he EBC's on.
Making everything easier to clean.

jabba sport now do a chip for the PB TDI Engines, (75bhp, 100bhp)
It costs around £275 and pushes the 100 uptp 145-150bhp!!
Well worth it in my books lads!

well, as far as im aware not a lot. i have friends who have chipped g60 corrados and say the only thing is fuel consumption reduces when you drive it hard. The thing is, if you drive carefully, it can increase fuel consumption

I can thoroughly recommend Upsolute (
www.upsolute.com). They have two distributors in the uk, but I used Simon Coe who's based in Sheffield. He does travel around for fitting, so you may save some money on fuel getting to a fitters. He can be contacted at
[email protected]
I've had my TDI Passat chipped by Simon, and can only say that I'm disappointed I didn't get it done sooner.
The downside? The happy smiley face my wife has to put up with everytime I come back from a drive.
The upside? More torque and increased fuel economy (sometimes)
