Have any of you on here seen one the those offers that promise you a free Ipod. I was sent one and was just wondering if anyone's taken up one of the offers and have actually received the item?

It sounds too good to be true doesn't it? :(

Anyway have a look and see what you think!!

They're all scams!!

I tried one of them pyramid things a while back to get a phone.
Cost me £20 to enter, and I did get a signal booster for my phone "woohooo" always wanted one of them "Not"...
Maybe if you get in early you may get something but I doubt it.

Cheers I thought it may be a scam but wanted others advice about them before looking into it.

A saying everyone should have brainwashed into them.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it normally is"

If you fall for these things, you are an idiot.

Yay for pyramid schemes - great for the clever, greedy bastard who comes up with it, and his early adopter friends, not so good for all the thick, even greedier sods who pay into it later on.

think about it - the money's not coming from anywhere but someone elses bank account. sooner or later, if a few people are getting mega rich, someone else is going to end up losing out badly as well. it could be you.

anyone remember the fun that was had a year or two back with the "women helping women!" scheme that was running (not just financially and morally unsound, but discriminating and offensive too!)??? seemed to have the most posters up around council estates for some reason, hehe... spotted it for what it was quite quickly, and lo and behold -- a couple months later, the local rag was running stories about all these fat, dole scamming single teenage mums weeping over losing thousands of pounds to it.

good gravy, how mental is that? £20 for the chance of getting an ipod with cashback, sure, thats no great loss, it's similar to the current trend of cashback-in-6-months mobile phone offers (with the added dodginess of it being advertised through a brightly flashing internet popup - not a good sign)..... but a grand or more, basically your entire savings plus pin money for the month? what was going through your mind? basically just throwing your money away - or to be kind, giving it as a present to someone you don't know..

save your cash and get something a bit better and less bloody trendy! :D *waves n-pod*
(the nano is sleek as greased f**k, to be sure, and i'd like something what looks like that... fact of the matter is though you can get already similarly small and capacious mp3 players, without the apple branding and NOT locked into itunes (but will still play stuff from it), for far less cash. who cares about the styling when it's in your pocket?)

How it works is like this..........

iPod cost £200

you get 25 people to pay £10

Company gets £50 and you get a 1-25 chance of winning an iPod

OR

Every 20 people paying £10 buys you an iPod. Each person then needs another 20 to join to buy them an iPod

giorgio - my point EXACTLY

one guy wins (not particularly big - "worth £200", and even then its probably an old-gen factory refurb you could have on ebay for fifty), another wins out even more (£50 for nothing... LOTS of £50s), a lot of folks lose in a smaller manner... but thats still a lot of people losing either way round.

like the "Win an Aston Martin!" stand in the airport.... cost of entry? £65. Chance of winning? You'd be better buying 65 lottery tickets. Tax, fuel and insurance paid for? You're having a larf, aintcha?

Yes I know, but you had your code tagged onto the end of the link, meaning if someone signed up after clicking the link on this thread, you would get bumped up the list or however this scheme works

As you can see now, a mod has removed your code from your post

Others have posted what this about, yes someone might get one, but its a long wait and not worth it

To be honest, if you want something, save up and purchase it. No one gives nothing away for free

lol my 2 cents....steer well clear of anything like this on the net... all these offers are money making ideas for some clever cloggs. Why help them get richer? the odds are stacked against you.
