K&N filter

Guys,
I've fitted the drop-in filter today to my 100ps, the pick up is much better, really recommend u guys to try...

Hi,
could you please say a little more on the performance changes you saw after installing the K&N Filter? Would you recommend it? I feel my car (9N/1.4/100) is really unwilling to rev. up and needs all the help it can get.
I also saw on their website that K&N also do an induction kit for the 9n. Know something about it?

The drop-in panel gives me better torque.. better response.. but about 10% more fuel consumption,
I don't know the i-Kit, but someone says that it can't improve much on a 1.4L engine.

Are drop in filters REALLY that better?
Not that i'm disagreeing, its just i've heard allot of rumours the performance increase is only physcological and in some cases it can actually DROP!
How would I find out if they do a filter for the 1.2 AWY and AZQ engines yet?

Nelson, I think Panel filters are generally considered to be of more benefit than Induction kits due to where the intake is (right on top!) - induction kits tend to draw in hot air and potentially lose power. I think that is what you are thinking of.

on VW engines the drop in filters normally work better than full induction kits because the intakes at the back of the block (and therefore draws in hot air)

that why some ppl will also install a hand made air duct for the i-kit
Frankly... I think the breathing path (the air box) of 9n 1.4 is too long..

Just an update:
Ordered a K&N for my 1.2 AWY engine code 9n a few weeks back. Got it and it was the wrong one
Spoke to someone at K&N filters, turns out they'd 'guessed' the 55bhp filter would be the same as a 65bhp engine
So, basically, if you own a 55bhp Polo bad luck. If you own a 65bhp Polo lucky you!
