I am in two minds about putting 16's or 17's on my polo. The problem is that i often have 4 very heavy people in the car along with subs in the boot. Do u reckon that the 17's would rub when it has this weight on it?

Hi random welcome to the forum my polo is lowered 50mm and has 17s on it, 205/40/17 tyres and i have never heard any rubbing on the arches, there is only usually 2 or 3 ppl in my car at the one time though, but as you say your car is regularly loaded with your mates and subs it could bottom out if it is lowered i had 16s on it originally but thought they looked a bit small IMO hope this helps

With the thought that VW themselves offer 17" wheels as an accessory option for the 9n i'd imagine rubbing is unlikely as long as you get all the measurements of wheel and tyre etc right.
