replacing Mk2 aerial

having a few probs removing teh old aerial from my Mk2 - ive taken the plastic wheel arch covers off and can see the aerial inside teh wing but as yet have had no luck in getting it out - any suggestions would be much appritiated....i'm most likely being mildly retarded..... :D

are you meaning the wire that goes to the back of the head unit???? if so, i jus cut mine, and put a bit of leccy tape on it....... ??? :roll: :wink:

do u mean u are replacing the original one... and cant get the wire out???

if it's anything like the one in the mk3, it's going to be the most balls-ache annoying job you've ever tried

i'd rather do the engine out again than have to replace my aerial a second time :D

what have you tried so far? you have to unscrew it from the top first if i remember rightly. if at all possible see if you can get the wire out of the old one "clean" and connect it to the new one, as getting the aerial in/out of the wing is a pain but threading the wires out of/into the dash is even worse. and that's with me having the brainwave to tie a string to the old wire as it went out, to pull the new on through with.
