Hello
Does anyone know if the rev limiter of polo gti can be removed with ecu remaping? I refer to 2000 model with siemens ecu....
Has anyone done this?

Can i just ask why you would want to do this??

The limiter is there for a reason, and to be honest most of the power will prob be before you hit it?

Although if you do get it remaped/chipped i guess it will raise the limiter slightly (usually does with other cars)

superchips can usually raise the limiter but not with a siemens ECU, i know this cos i work at the workshop for scotland superchips (although i dont fit them), and my gti has a siemens ECU!

i had my car on the rollers again at the weekend and maximum power output was at 6250 rpm so there is no point in movin the limiter!

Slight diversion from the thread but where do you work Grum? And do you do suspension? Thinking of getting the GTi dropped 30mm and am over in Fife quite a bit. If you do it, how much?

I'd also be interested to know what superchips can do for the car, like what sort of power increase you get?

Cheers!

My car has already schrick cams installed and the max power comes to 6750 revs and rising.... So i must have the limiter up to get more power. I havent chiped my car yet. Why in siemens ecu the limiter can not me changed?

The cams are working fine but i need to reprogramme my ecu. But withour removing revlimiter i can not get the power the cams can give....
