Clutch Pedal Sticking?

Hi

Hope i got the right right Mk for our polo!

My missus just picked up an 02 Polo 1.2s, when we test drove it the clutch pedal stuck half way down and we couldnt change gear. The pedal pops back up if you give it a tug from the underside and then all is fine. The dealer said they fixed it and as it was a good deal we bought it

Only its done it twice on the drive to work. Is it a common problem?

Im going to moan at the VW dealer about it anyway but i wanted to get some info if there is any.

Joe

Not sure if it common but i would go and moan to them. You want it rectified ASAP and a courtesy car.

Not common enough to be aired on this forum.

As Dino says take it back and have a damn good moan at them.

I had the same problem with the clutch sticking, only by puting your foot under it can you release it!!! I took it back to the dealer and said its a common problem on the golf mk4's BUT never has he seen it on a polo 9n before. Because the clutch is hydraulic the master cylinder can sometimes stick causing the clutch arm to freeze. Get it sorted before the warenty runs out, my polo was done in the 3 year warenty so it was free of charge, but almost had a heart attack at what it would of cost me, £320!!!! Hope this helps
