Well, I don't know if any of you knew, but I can't drive yet.

(Why's he on a car forum if he can't drive, and doesn't own a Polo I hear you ask...)

Well... I've had my first lesson (Last Thursday) and have one this Thursday. I have 4 in the kitty and my boss is buying me loads and wants me on the road "As soon as we can".

I'm also looking at cars as we speak (MK3 GT Coupe obviously)...

My instructor was pleased with my driving on the first lesson (I've praccied in a Corsa and a 106 before). I did about 4 laps of a small-ish square neighbourhood, and this week he wants to take me on a 60 road (2nd lesson, on a 60 road :!: :?: )

He said I should be on the road by Jan / Early Feb!

I'm glad i'm finally getting somewhere!!!

(Why do we give a **** you are thinking...)

Well, you probably don't care but i'm looking forward to it and thought i'd share my excitement with you all....

See you at meets early next year guys 8)

Spik3y.

A mk3 GT Coupe perhaps?

Learning to drive is cool, one of the things that you just have to do! Nice that your boss is paying for them too :)

Yeah I've looked at Polo MK3 GT's already... Some of you may know I almost bought one but that's a different matter...

Anyway today I did hillstarts and got in to 3rd gear (Watch out Gatso's, here I come :D :D :D )

Only stalled once in two lessons so not all bad...

When's the first meet then??

It's all about money. You can afford anything you can pay for - most obviously.

If I could afford it, I'd have my GT and my Civic VTi now.

That's very true Del, I can afford it and wanted one, so bit the bullet and got one :D you only live once, so do it while you can, I can even afford the £177 a month insurance (gone up from £160 because I'm getting my bumper smoothed, the Bastards)

cool for you man, but i am worried you're taking it a bit too quickly - at least a couple more lessons round the estates, just to ease the rust out and wake the reflexes before going out on the A-roads might be wiser?

least if you're aiming for a GTi we can be certain you're not going to be causing too many hold ups :D
