Flaming GT!

I was revving my car tonight, (not hitting the limiter or anything) and it was popping, then it popped again and I saw an orange flash in the reflection of my mates car next to me. Then i revved it some more and it popped and a flame came out again! and my mate said it was a decently sized flame that came out 
I wasnt revvin it for long, i had just come from a good few miles of driving. I think my lambda is fooked, it smells of fuel like mad when its running, im gettin crap mpg and theres a hesitant throttle. most of the symptoms of it, everyone else rekon its fooked? and can it cause damage to the engine being broken? i dont wana hurt my car 
EDIT: Btw, its running, performance back box, G40 centre section, Chip, De-Cat, Drilled air box with panel filter.
