small tip for gti owners...

i hav been reading a few of the posts and ppl mention removing the front bumper to change sidelights etc, you dnt need to to this, jst remove the two screws on the back of the light units, and also the battery on the passengers side.much easyier!
hope thats sum help to those of you that didnt know

Yeh, obviously you have not done this, otherwise you would know that its impossible to do it that way...

i have actually mate! i changed both my sidelights to the led form, i dnt see what all the fuss is about, i jst removed the battery on the one side and used some clever finger wrk on the other

had my car in for service on thursday and they couldnt get into the screws at back even with the battery out.

sorry to bring this up again but i changed my side lights this mornin and must agree with the top post!
i do not see the purpose in removin the front bumper... wot is the need??
i removed 4 screws on the back of the drivers headlight and 3 on the passengers headlight... i add that all i done was remove the original cold air feed for the air box and remove the bracket so i cud move the battery up a bit (i didnt even take the battery out!!)
it was a bit of a fiddle about but i managed fine without removin the bumper and i now have nice fresh lookin glow from the blue vision phillips bulbs!!

How blue are the Philips Blue Vision bulbs mate?
I want something closer to the xenon look, white preferably, but not blue.
Looks a bit poo just now as very yellow lookin.

its like a really white glow... itsa blue bulb but it doesnt shine blue!
its more like a crystaly kind of shine, looks 10 times better anyway!

If you are looking for a whiter sidelight you should have a look at PIAA leds, that what i have in the car , maybe if you still want to meet up get in touch

as discussed with a vw dealer there is no need to remove the bumper.
