How good is the standard alarm that comes with the GTi, I have been told if I upgrade me alarm it will invalidate my used VW warrentee.

Had a Toad Ai606 on me mk4 polo closed all windows and had a few gizmos I miss from the standard GTi 1.

So whats the protection like on the VW alarm

as far as i know its pritty good, and even without an alarm theyre pritty tricky to break into, also it has auto closure, but not frm the key, you hav to put it in the door and turn it!grrr

So how does the alarm work? I've only just got my polo and accidently set it off the other day (can't remember how) and wasn't quite sure what i did to turn it off!

Also i noticed a button on the seat belt pillar - if i understand correctly it sets some sort of motion sensor inside the car? Does anyone use this everytime they lock their car?

owen, you're on the right track, but the opposite direction. it deactivates the internal sensors so you can leave your chosen pets/children/old relatives in the car. just press it once before you set the alarm..simple

am in the process of getting wiring diagrams for a pcb i bought that enables the total closure of windows and sunroof from the keyfob and not putting the key in the lock, cos i agree, you look like a pleb with your key stuck in the door of a polo gti, makes you look like you de-speced the remote central locking lol

Are all GTi's supposed to have auto-closure? Tried leaving the windows open on mine and locking it via the key but nothing happened.
