I dont think he wants to buy it to abuse it.
Looks solid and straight from those pics. Would look better without the side strips.
GT squarebacks arent very common, it could be done up with a bit of time and effort. Worth saving IMO

yeah worth saving, gotta be slammed with 14" euro style alloys, or even steals! smooth the sides with a big ice system in the back! o am i going over the top? kinda wot i had planned for my old squareback mk2!
gt squarebacks are quite a rare modded car, well worth being different!

Ok...boot and wings - I think I can get some in the right colour, I can check the condition of these for you if you like.
The front badge can easily be sprayed instead of paying for a genuine VW black one
Is that rust around the fuel filler lid or that just pixelation?
Other than that it doesn't look too bad...like I said on MSN if you get the chance to have a good look around it check inside the bonnet as I suspect it's had a front ender judging by the CL bumper and badge on there.

A black front VW badge is less than £4.

It has the GT bumper (I think) but the red strip has fallen/been taken out. It also has the black headlining which I believe is a GT trademark. Either way I wouldn't really be bothered as its an old car anyway

As long as you're happy with it, go for it.
Just thought I'd remind you!
All the best with it!

Oh and one more thing- are those side moldings glued on, or clipped too? Judging from that pic I'd say glued, and in that case I'd say rip-em-off. What would you say?

sides strips are glued on! they don't take much to take em off though! althought there is a little but just on the back wings which are rivited and would need to be filled and sprayed! how do i no this u might ask, well minds kinda hanging off a bit

but it stays in place it's only visible if you move it! also it is kinda moulded so that it blends in with the bump strips! might look a bit wierd if you take the bump strips off! still, i have seen it done!

you can just about see the plastic clips that are behind it!

Hmm.
Shame about the clip! Still, I really like the look of the cleaned up side.
Would work well with (partially) CC'd bumpers I'd imagine.
