i wouldn't worry too much about fuel prices mate, its mainly aviation fuel that is being burned at present, the motor fuel is apparently in a different part of the refinery.
4 serious and 30 minor injuries the bbc report. best wishes to them!

Sounds like it was lucky there were so few injuries, for the scale of the explosion.

Best wishes to everyone involved.

I went to Luton earlier and you can see it from the area around the airport.

Drove from my house in southwest London to northwest London today to see family, it was sunny when we left but dark foggy when we got there

yup only about 20 miles away from where i live, once the fog lifted from where i worked we took our kids for a walk up a hill and could see just a wall of black smoke some miles away
you could even smell it as the wind was coming our way, decided not to take them out again after watching the lunchtime news and hearing that the smoke is possibly letting off an irritant!
They reckon its going to take 5 days to put the fire out, as there is still one tank of oil that hasn't exploded and its only a matter of time they say.

The M1 was shut around here and they are saying that the m25 junction 19 might be closed tomorrow morning because of the position of it and that it will be a north wind tomorrow.

Did anyone see the pictures from a sattelite image? astonishing!

lucky that no one was seriously hurt!

I saw that, he was saying that area there is your normal Nimbus cloud, and that black area of cloud is the smoke

Just hope the seriously injured pull through.
