Anyone notice much rattling from their fsi when idling?
I remember when it was so quiet I kept thinking I'd stalled it!
Only now, it seems to rattle a fair bit.

Might be down to the cold weather
Can't say i've really noticed it on mine though but i'll have a listen tomorrow.

Only noticed it once -- after thrashing it round for three quarters of an hour one evening last week. Thought I'd broken it for a minute, but it's more likely just the cold weather as Gary said.

Its a characteristic of the FSi engine; sounds a bit like a diesel on idle because it burns fuel in a similar way

Only when it's in FSI mode

It probably needs the throttle body cleaning. I had a long-standing problem which started out as it running "lumpy" and ended up with it cutting out on idle. My local dealer was unable to solve the problem -- they just continued to clean the throttle body every time I took it in -- but when I took it to another dealership they found that the car needed the ECU upgrading. Since then it's only cut out once -- today of all days, but it started straight after.
