Hi all will a 5 speed box from a 1989 polo 1.0 c fit my car?

I have an M reg 1.0 polo match coupe with a noisey 4 speed gearbox

I have found a 1989 1.0 square back c with a 5 speed box for free

can I fit the 5 speed box to my polo if i take the linkages too?

will I need to do anything else?

With the Mark2 and 3, essentially sharing a lot of components, I would say that the gearbox should go on without too much of an issue, afterall, the later Mark2 Polo engines went on to be used in the Mark3 in fuel injected guise.

If you can get hold of 86C on here or Club Polo, hes the man to speak to about compatibility of Mark2 and 3 bits with one another.
