Where abouts do you live.

I'm not really a fan of lowering in the UK at the moment. Where I live my roads are full of those speed humps. Plus roads arent that good.

Would love to do more stuff to my engine but just havent got the time or even the knowledge. Perfect little engine is the 1.4 Turbocharged engine that has been fitted to the VW Golf TSI MK5.

Will polos accept more than 15"???

i live in kent, roads r not great round here but if u set ur suspension up correctly then there shouldn't be too much trouble!

the new mk5 golf GT has a turbcharger and a supercharger!! ie 1.4 TSi. its a revolutionary new engine, supercharger takes care of the low revs while the turbo takes care of the high revs. fuel consumption is not too badly affected as u don't have to boot it to get it too go anywhere! (1.4 is generally very underpowered for the golf)

170bhp from a 1.4 :D should be a good drive especially as its using the mk5 gti suspension and running gear!

mk4 polos will take 15s easily and 16s shouldn't be too much of an issue, 17s would probably go but with a fair bit of arch work! depends wot sort of distance u want to lower it!

Quite right, 15"s and 16"s aren't too much trouble. On your existing 15" rims you can easily go to -100mm with the right setup, so anything is possible! Just look at dubpolo's GTi:

At -80mm or so. I know its a later model Polo but the same effect can be acheived by fitting coilover suspension and simply setting the whole lot at it's lowest settings 8)

that seems pretty high for -80mm or is it just me?

But yeah I'd recommend lowering just to narrow down that ugly looking gap in the arches

looks bloody low to me!! would have much trouble getting over sleeping police men!!
i had 35mm drop on springs when i had my polo and to me that felt alot lower. i hoping to go probably 40-60mm on my ibiza as the roads round my way r a bit pants!!

dubpolo is at about -75mm i think, same kit as me he's running im pretty sure.
yes mate go for some coil-overs, if you want it really low, you will never be happy with just springs!
