my gti, hit 172.5 miles for £20 worth of petrol today
what do you get in yours

i fill up every week cost me around 32 quid and only get 215-225 tops

I got 274.5 before the light came on and that was from about £38, it's just taken £40 with room for more, but I only had £40 on me.

I normally get around 290-300 before the light comes on and fill her up at around 300-320....... Around the £38-40 mark for a full tank.... That's with optimax and the odd tank of esso unleaded......

why is my tank smaller than urs

I fill up every up week - got about 350 miles out of it last week for £34 worth of fuel.

£38 of Optimax gets me approx 300 miles, mostly town driving though.

Got a few long drives coming up soon though so will report back again then.

i get normally get about 320-330 mile on a full tank of optimax only on long moterway trips ,mostly driving like Miss Daisy unless i feel like showing up some other cars

To fill up cost roughly £36 and I get 300 out of it. Sometimes more if I've done some motorway miles.

Just put £40 of optimax in (@93.9 a litre) filling it up after getting 330miles, the light came on at 295miles. Which is around the norm for what I get my driving is about 60% town and 40% motorway. On a trip to york at a constant 60 with the odd overtake I managed 400miles before the light came on !

Do you all use optimax?? What exactly is the different between that and normal unleaded?

Normal unleaded is 95RON whereas super unleaded/Optimax is 98RON. This means super unleaded has a higher octane rating.

If you look inside the petrol flap on the GTi it states 98RON, which it asks for probably due to the relatively high compression ratio the GTi engine has.

BP Ultimate for me, there's not Shell garages around (I assume that's where Optimax is from)

Same here dude, BP Ultimate and there is only one pump in town! No Shell garages for 15 miles

I get maybe 280 from full to the light coming on, btw.

It's not just me that only gets about that then, I was reading all them high numbers up there /\ and was thinking, why don't I get that much
