w00t w00t! :D

Don't worry about your wheels, think of it this way: firstly, you'll get a year's NCB whilst your car is tucked up safe and sound, and secondly, if you're not driving then you can have a drink whenever you like - yes, even for breakfast :P

Which Uni are you going to, and what are you reading? I went to Chester myself, got my degree before UCC became a Uni in their own right (used to be a "College of the University of Liverpool") so my certificate has Univeristy of Liverpool stamped on it 8)

Whislt at Uni I left my Mini back at home for the most part, and came back from Uni with 4 years NCB - then bought my GTi

well done :D

a couple years at uni with only buses, a bicycle and shanks' pony, particularly if it's a hilly place, will do wonders for your fitness, if not your liver :)
my cardiovascular rating took a divebomb in my third year when i got the car, but it was OH so handy for a million and one things.

when you leave your car put your insurence onto 3rd party. Lowers your quote. Will this stop your NCB :?

nope

bit of history: mate of mine had an old 900cc panda. it looked like it was fit to breathe its last (piston rings went, and FIRE engines are practically impossible to overhaul)... sold it for a good price to a cousin who then stuck it in a random cornfield belonging to his dad or something.
left it there all year on third party insurance... he reckoned the NCB he generated from this alone was worth the purchase price and that of paying for a year of premiums  (he *was* 17 after all..)

you can probably declare it off the road too. that way you dont have to pay for road tax.
