i got a problem!! :(

hey guys, i got a new problem!!

rite..... going along last night in the polo and i seen a few mates..... was following my fiancee home, and as i was going past my mates, i tooted my horn,,,, as you do! :D but...... i noticed that my lights flickerd, and wen i held the horn on... the lights go off...... im very much concerned and found it funny to begin with.... but it cant be good.... so....


HELP

ohhh. and by the way.... i keep blowing head lamp bulbs.... i.e... the full beem goes,,,, then the next, then the main beem goes... and then im buggered!! haha

so please help a poloer in need! :D

Mmmm.... That's a strange one is that. Sounds like some sort of short in the wiring. Have you tried replacing the horn just in case it's developed a fault and is drawing excess current from the battery. Or it might be a failing alternator - maybe it's not providing enough charge when the car is running to power the lights & horn (or a fluctuating current which is blowing your 12v headlights!) Sorry, that's all I can think of.

im pretty certain that its not the Alt.... replaced that a while back.... will try the horn.... and ill check all wires!! thanx for the reply! :D

have u changed any fuses or relays lately? if ure constantly taking bulbs out then they gotta over powering and it could possibly be them draining the power. when i had the mk2 loom in, my lights used to dim when i dipped the clutch, used the blowers, wipers, or anything else for that matter! just a thought.

havnt changed any of the fuses recently.... ill have a look at them and ill let u all know, also look for any OBVIOUS problems.... gettin weird now!haha

Check your fuses and front end earthing points.

Sounds very much like dodgy earth, as I think at least one headlamp earths in the same place as the horn.

Failing that, check your alternator output.
