Biddy bye little Poppy car :(

Well, it's finally happened, someone has walked up with a fistfull of dollars and made me an offer I can't refuse, to mix movie metaphors. Fittingly, it's someone "in the family". My uncle's building/decorating business is on the grow, and he needs to expand his Polish-migrant-labourer and equipment transporting capabilities beyond what a transit van can handle. Something sturdy and reliable, but not neccessarily all that quick, like the van
So he gets a car with a personal guarantee of working for at least six months (if not, i find him a replacement...
), being delivered today to the manchester site, I get £400 in the back pocket, minus six months tax and a year's insurance. Everybody's happy. Especially the car, because sitting still for the best part of a year with only occasional runs can't have done it too much good.
Got a nice jaunt ahead of me today, only problem is I should be doing college work instead as i've took annual leave to do it. Still, it's the equivalent of two weeks after-tax wages...
Must step on, got to go rub down the primer i put on the worst bits of arch bubble and add some topcoat (he's not bothered about the bodywork... but I am, still), get insured, taxed, and off on my way.
I'll be playing Divine Madness on the way up, of course. On the original tape, I think. Just so i can crank the windows down and the blaupunkt as high as the speakers will tolerate to sing along with Driving In My Car. Everybody now --- "It's not much, but it's mine. I mend it in my spare time.."*
Don't worry (celebrate?) yet as i'll be back in selling a pile of polo related gear and to baffle the odd noob asking gearbox and ignition related questions, at least for a while, sporadically

Happy trails old girl
yeah, that's the rust patch i'm on about, right there
* did once have an idea of altering it with polo lyrics from the original moggy minor ones. it kind of worked, but not brilliantly
PS... INTEL INSIDE!! Maybe i should quickly make a sticker with my one remaining page of A4 sticker paper?
