To be honest I think 18's look sh1te! They are far too big in MY opinion! I would go for a set of deep dish/wide euro 16's, streched tyres and slam in on coilies to the deck! If you get 18's your max I recon would be to drop it bout 30mm. Seriously save your money and buy a 4x4 cos thats what it will be after fitting 18s.

Most people fit 18's so that when there down the pub or "cruising" they can boast they have 18's! Wooohooo!!!! Not! They look pants dont do it!

I would rather have an amazing set of 16" wheels for £800 than fitting crap looking 18s. If you had a golf then I would maybe say yeah, but deffo not for a polo!

I agree with the above, 18's look far too big on a polo, I would get some 16x8's and slam it that will look loads better

Is that your only options? If so the deffo go for 16's with the 45mm drop. If not the get some coilovers and slam it to the deck more like 60-70mm! Will look shweet then
