UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Since last week my polo sterted doing strnge things:

1) As soon i turn the engine on central locking locks all the doors

2) When i stop at the lights my car has started vibrating, it very annoying, but it only does it when i stop, also i noticed that the gearstick moves about and it never used to..

Any ideas what it could be?
Ps My polo is N Reg 1.6.

dunno if its the same thing but wen i stop sometimes you can hear a small vibrations. I found after bout half hour of it doing my head in i found it was the milage reset pin, so i twisted it a bit and it stoped. Other than that just turn your music up.

I would but the problem is that its not the sound, the whole car is jerking sided to side, but the engine dont make any unusual noises/sounds.

check ur springs an shocks, get them seen 2, mabye 1 spring has a broken coil an wen ur car is ideling ur feelin the off balance an it shakes. my driver side door makes like an wee rattle but with the music up im fresh an cnt hear it its not bad, i think its just the door swab, ive had the driver side door latch replced twice, bad thing 4 breaken

Do i have to take it into a garage or is it something that i could have a look at myself.

My central locking went completely nuts yesterday, I think there must be something wrong with the wiring, coz it constanly tries to lock the doors even when they are locked for now i unplugged the thing in the boot, which means i dont have central locking anymore, but at least i can get out of the car when i want to lol...

yea the wiring cud b shortin out in sum place, check it if u can, but polo's hold alot of different coloured wires, so it might b best just 2 turn the lockin off an just lock the doors wit ur keys, that wot i do
