I'm guessing that my suspension has been lowered around the 35mm-40mm mark and have put 17inch alloys on. Do you guys think i can go any lower with 17's on or will i be pushing it?
Also i was about put lower profile tyres on because the ones i've got at the mo are 205/40ZR17 and i want something which makes the car lower etc but without rubbing!!
Can anyone help??

Yeah i'm pretty sure it stops at 35 and i understand that the wall of the tyre is more profile. i wonder if anyone else can expand on this??

I had 195 35 17 on my last car, you can get down to like 25 profile as far as im aware!
It will still rub with any setup on 17 inch rims.... no matter what tyres u get

Or you could stop messing about with the 17's and get some 15/14s on there

You can get pirelli p zero nero 195/40/17 tyres which would be a good size to get. I would get them if i was getting my 17" all over again but there expensive. You could get the falken 205/40/17 tyres they have a more slanted side wall so may help plus there cheaper.

Its a bit of trial and error mate. You just fit the 17"s then lower it to the height you want it then go out a drive in it if it rubs put it up a bit and so on until it doesn't rub as bad thats what i done at the start but then i wanted it lower, as you do.

If you want to go down my route of lowering it 80 to 100 mill you'll prob have to get either the Falken-Ohtsu ZE-512 205/40 ZR17 84W RF Rim-protection tyres for £58 with a more slanted side wall check this web page and you'll see what i mean
http://www.mytyres.co.uk/Tyres.html or the perelli it will make the difference between catching on the arch n not. Infact just seen a cracking deal on that web page for 195/40/17 tyres makes are continental for £90 and hankook for £65 which is excellant. I would see how you go with that first if not then its stage 2.
