Hi everyone
Ive just had my 2004 polo serviced (2nd Year) at the dealer and its cost me a whopping £279.93!!

Ive had nothing special done just brake fluid drain and replace, oil, plug, filter and castrol slx. Plus there labour charge which is ridiculously high at £169.70!! So basically my service, parts and VAT has cost me me approx £110.00.
Has anyone else paid this kind of money for their second service? My polo has only done 6500 miles.
I certainly wont go back to the dealer again unless its warranty work. There service is appalling and they are way too expensive.

You could have had the service done at any independant specialist and still maintain the warranty. As long as they use genuine parts and you keep the proof you are covered. It would have probably been half the price too. I always get my car's (Touran, Leon, Polo) serviced by Stealth and I think the most expensive one so far was £112 all in for a variable on the Touran. Not had brake fluid on any yet though so not sure how much this would have added?

My 40K service cost me £285 which included brake fludi draining and refill. Can't complain really - got 25% off labour charges.

Hi there iam a bit of a newbie to the polo forum and this particular message caught my eye.I to have a 2004 polo with 6000 miles on the clock.Anyway i thought my beloved Polo might need a service so i popped it into the local VW Stealer. The service man asked me how many miles had my car done etc, etc.I gave him all the answers and he said there must be afault on the car because the service spanner indicater should not have come on as the car is not 2yrs old yet.I querried the spanner indicator and he told me that when that flashes on and off thats when to bring the car in or 2yrs on (long life service).Anyway i told him there was no flashing spanner and he then told me"well you don't need to have your car polo serviced.I just thought it was stange that your Polo has only done 500miles more than mine and it cost you all that money
