Just saw the red Gti thats on Ebay up for Spares....and it got me wondering...there were 3000 built for UK if I'm correct....well that was 6 years ago....and I've seen a fair few in scrappies over the course of those 6 years....knock off the total writeoffs that must have happened...the odd few that may have been imported out of the UK etc
How many do you guys think are still going out of those 3000
My guess would be in the region of 2000 or so.
Pointless topic I know...but a thought provoking one...they were rare enough when new...so now must be getting positively Ferrari rare.

Also, out of those 3000, 30% would have been 5 door, so thats 2100 3 doors, say 1000 have been crashed or that only leaves 1100, divide that by 3, is about 360, 360 of each colour in the UK. Thats not alot!

So out of the 60 million people in the UK, only 360 have a silver 3 door gti :D.

Given that most will be shagged, propably about 40 of them would be worth having...

There was an article in Golf+ magazine a few months back and they were talking about other VAG cars that they liked.

They mentioned the Polo GTi and compared it to the MK1 Golf GTi in terms of character and said it's very likely to become a future classic like the MK1 Golf GTi is now.

I may never sell mine now 8)

Meaning they will hold their value pretty well... & In a couple years they may become as rare as mk4 gti's.

I reckon there's probably less red GTi's, compared to silver or black.

If you look through the members rides section, there isn't really many in flash red in there. :D

It's almost a shame that VW decided to make the new MkVII GTi, stops the name being that little bit more exclusive
