30k service

hi how have people got on with this service had it done the other day £80.18 (1.4tdi)
+
been told i need 2 new front Tyres soon (tread worn down to legal limit)
o/s/f 1.6m o/s/r 4.0m
n/s/f 2.0m n/s/r 3.0m
need new front brake pads in 6,000 (not long
)
and said he would recomend break fluid needs flushing out on top of 40k service.
asked about nxt 40k service looking at £250

swap your front and rear wheels round (probably a bit late)
that makes a set last a lot longer (but means you have to buy 4 not 2 tyres)

How much did you guys pay for your first service? I had a look in Slough and Hayes which cost around 250?!

I got 3 years worth of servicing chucked in when I bought my car so have't had to pay as yet..... but I've just had my 30,000 (@ 28,500
) so the next one I'm gonna have to pay for.
Also needed two front tyres (which I knew about) and probably brake pads at next service.
So sorry Mikey, can't help you.... but I'd say 250 was well over the top.

Silverpolo, I have five Dunlop SP Sport 2000 195/55/R15 tyres here with almost no where on them off my 9n! Shame it'd cost more in postage to get them to you

yeah shame u aint closer.
was looking into getting a new set off alloys deal with rubber 17'' or so if was cyheap enough.
anyways.............
anyone know how much these dunlop sports are kicking out at garages

They're quite cheap actually
Might have to order from them cos I need 2 new tyres.

The 40k service on my old Polo GTi was £300 from my local dealer. £200 for the service (with all the sundries) and £100 for the brake fluid change (which I wasn't expecting at all!).
Apparently it's one of the most expensive services. Thank goodness!

100 Pounds for brakefluid? I paid €55 last year for my 6N (with ABS). Bit steep?

If you look in your petrol flap the pressures should be in there. I think for 195/50/R15's...
Half payload; 1.9/1.9
Full payload; 2.2/2.5
Be sure to check though

Forgot to add. My first service cost £55. My second service was free!
